BOLT Youth
Leaders Fellowship

Our youth programs, split between the academic-year and summer, instill in participants the possibility of change, cultivates their commitment to leading that change and helps them learn what they need to be comfortable pursuing leadership roles. We focus on serving Philadelphia public high school youth, focusing on BIPOC and low-income neighborhoods, providing paid career experiences.

Academic-Year Fellowship

The BOLT Academic-Year Fellowship partners directly with schools to bring leadership development into the classroom. We train youth leaders, referred to as "coaches." These 10th-grade and above students receive comprehensive leadership training and then mentor their peers in civic classrooms, creating ripple effect of empowerment and skill-building within their school communities.

Each school has 10–15 coaches, ensuring focused guidance and support. This program is integrated into the school day, making it accessible and impactful for participating students.
